Michigan has released its official injury report for the season opener against Connecticut, and as expected, running back Fitzgerald Toussaint will miss the game. Michigan State volleyball wins its own showcase
Michigan State won its seventh straight MSU Showcase on Saturday when it beat Evansville, 25-10, 25-16, 25-18, in the championship match. Redshirt junior Jenilee Rathje was voted the tournament MVP. Rathje had 20 kills and hit .424 over the three matches the Spartans (3-0) won. |

Comerica Bank's Michigan Economic Activity Index climbed in July to its highest level in more than two years. Comerica Chief Economist Dana Johnson said Wednesday that July's reading of 87 was up 16 points from its year-ago level, the largest year-on-year increase since December 2004. |
